Coffee with Commissioner Pittman
The Chamber’s Coffee with Councilpersons is a monthly event that connects Chamber members to their local elected officials. The hour-long coffee session intends to familiarize members with their local elected officials and discuss issues of importance in the business community.
The meeting this month will be hosted on Zoom and is with County Commissioner Dennis Pittman. Denis was first elected as a Yellowstone County Commissioner (District 2) in 2016 and currently is the board chairman.
Denis was born in Butte, MT, and raised in Billings. In 1982, Denis earned his Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. Denis attended Billings schools and graduated from Billings Senior High School in 1984. He received a BA from Mt. Angel Seminary College in 1988, attended 2 years of Graduate School of Theology, and then received an Associates in Mortuary Science from Mt. Hood Community College in 1994. Denis has been a licensed Mortician in the State of Montana since 1994. He also became a licensed realtor in 2015 and owns several businesses in Yellowstone County.
Denis was elected and served from 2008-2015 as a Billings City Councilman for Ward 2 (Billings Heights), Denis is active in our community, having served on many boards and commissions. Denis was on the Montana Early Childhood Advisory Council, Chair of the Billings Parks and Recreation Board, active on the Montana League of Cities and Towns, and on the Energy, Environment and Natural Resources steering committee of the National League of Cities.
Denis has been married to Paula for 25 years and they have 7 children. All of his children adopted him, and he is an advocate for foster adopt families after being a foster parent for over 15 years. You can learn more about Denis at his web site www.DenisPitman.com.
